15 test Covid positive in single ward of Jagitial Municipality

Following the spurt in the number of cases in the locality, district medical and health department officials swung into action and were trying to trace out the primary contacts

Jagitial: At least 15 persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the 8th ward of Jagitial Municipality, sending panic signals among the local residents. Rumours are doing the rounds in the town that the councilor of the ward also tested positive for the virus. However, it is yet to be confirmed.

Following the spurt in the number of cases in the locality, district medical and health department officials swung into action and were trying to trace out the primary contacts of the infected persons.

Besides primary contacts, Covid tests are also being conducted on people suffering from cold, cough and fever in the wards as well as surrounding areas through a separate testing center.

On coming to know about the incident, local MLA Dr Sanjay Kumar and Jagitial municipality chairperson Srivani visited the ward and enquired about the situation.
