15-year-old boy drowns in irrigation tank in Mancherial
A 15-year-old boy drowned in an irrigation tank near Mulkalla village in Hajipur Mandal, Mancherial district, on Sunday. Police said the Class X student, who had gone swimming with friends, failed to return home, prompting a search.
Mancherial: A fifteen-year-old boy drowned while swimming in an irrigation tank near Mulkalla village in Hajipur mandal on Sunday.
Hajipur Sub-Inspector Kiran Kumar said that Bogiri Sandeep Kumar, a Class X student and son of Raju from the village, met a watery grave while swimming in the tank for fun. He along with his four friends visited the tank in the afternoon. While Sandeep wanted to take a dip in the tank, his friends did not enter the water.
Parents searched for Sandeep when he did not return home by evening. They lodged a missing complaint. Police traced the body of the boy in the tank and fished it out using expert divers. A case was registered. Investigations have been taken up.
