151 new CCTV cameras installed in Karimnagar town: CP Kamalasan Reddy
Informing that crime rate in the areas, where cameras were located came down, he said criminals were thinking twice to commit crimes in areas under surveillance
Karimnagar: Commissioner of Police, VB Kamalasan Reddy informed that the entire Karimnagar police commissionerate was under the surveillance of CCTV cameras, after he inaugurated 151 newly installed CC cameras from Kaman to NTR statue on bypass road in Karimnagar town on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion Kamalasan Reddy said police were able to detain accused persons in several cases quickly with the help of CCTV cameras and modern technology. Courts were also considering CCTV camera footage as evidences, he said.
Informing that crime rate in the areas, where cameras were located came down, he said criminals were thinking twice to commit crimes in areas under surveillance. Out of 16 mandals in commissionerate limits, cameras were installed in all villages of ten mandals, he informed and called upon the people to come forward voluntarily to install cameras in their localities.
There was a possibility of burglaries being committed in commissionerate limits as some criminal gangs could have come from other states. He asked people to be alert and call in police if they noticed any unknwn persons in their localities. Town ACP P Ashok, Inspectors Vijay Kumar, Laxman Babu, Vignan Rao, Sis Naresh Kumar, Srinivas and others participated in the programme.
