Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Monday warned Telangana DGP that the police would be held responsible if BRS leader Manne Krishank was harmed, following an alleged open threat to him over his allegations against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his family.
A video purportedly showing a Congress supporter and aide of a former MLA threatening Krishank with physical assault if he did not delete videos against the Chief Minister and his family has surfaced on social media.
The person in the video also warned Krishank against speaking about Revanth Reddy’s wife and daughter and allegedly threatened not to let him live in the Secunderabad area.
Reacting to the video, Rama Rao questioned the Telangana DGP’s response to what he described as open threats by Congress leaders in the public domain.
“Do you guys even exist? Open threats by Congress goons in public domain and Telangana police seem busy snatching DJs and protecting CM brothers who aren’t even ward members,” he said.
Rama Rao said the alleged threats were a consequence of the BRS exposing what he described as rampant corruption by the Chief Minister’s family.
“Everything shall be remembered. If Krishank is harmed, you will be responsible Mr DGP. And yes Rahul Gandhi, you will be equally responsible for the lawlessness,” he said.
Krishank had recently levelled allegations against the Chief Minister and his family over corruption and accumulation of illegal assets, claiming that he had documentary evidence regarding their alleged business interests.
