17-year-old drowns in Adilabad waterfall; body retrieved after overnight search
A 17-year-old boy from Adilabad drowned while swimming in a pond at a waterfall near Khandala village. The incident occurred on Wednesday, and the body was retrieved the following morning after a search operation involving expert divers.

Adilabad: A 17-year-old boy from Adilabad town drowned in a pond at a waterfall near Khandala village in Adilabad Rural mandal on Wednesday evening. His body was recovered on Thursday morning.
According to police, the boy, Manohar Singh, son of trader Dongal Singh, had gone to the waterfall with friends. With schools shut due to a bandh, the group visited the scenic spot to spend the day. While taking a dip, Manohar ventured into a deeper part of the pond and drowned.
Local police, alerted to the incident, pressed expert divers into service. However, the body could not be located until late Wednesday night. The search operation resumed at daybreak on Thursday, and the body was found around 8 am.
A case has been registered and investigations are underway.
