17-year-old Veda Pathashala student electrocuted while bathing in Godavari river

He reportedly died on the spot after coming into contact with a live wire meant for supplying power to an electric motor.

Nirmal: A 17-year-old student studying at a Veda Pathashala was electrocuted while trying to bathe in Godavari river on Friday. Police said that Manikantha from Warni village in Nizamabad district was found dead at Ganga Aarti ghat near the river. He was a third year student of a course at the school.

Meanwhile, Bhainsa additional ASP Avinash Kumar, Inspector Mallesh, Sub-Inspector Ganesh inspected the spot of the incident and made inquiries into the death of the student. A case was registered. Investigations are on. Management of the school was not available for a comment.
