According to a press release, police, with the help of MMC officials, conducted special checks to curb illegal cattle transportation and seized a total of 172 cattle within various police station limits. The cattle were transferred to the MMC animal shelter.

During inspections in areas such as Madannapet, Nagole, Santosh Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Saroor Nagar, LB Nagar, Bowenpally and Abdullapurmet, police checked several vehicles and seized cattle that were being transported illegally.

Of the seized cattle, 13 were sent to shelters, while 103 were transferred to the MMC animal shelter in Fathullaguda. Among these 103 cattle, there were 3 cows, 52 bulls, 15 buffaloes and 33 calves, the release said.

The health condition of the cattle transferred to the animal shelter was examined by Veterinary Deputy Director Srinivas Reddy, who provided treatment to those in distress. With the help of staff, the cattle were kept under observation and provided with necessary feed and water facilities, the release added.
