18-month-old boy drowns in agricultural well in Karimnagar

An 18-month-old boy tragically drowned after falling into an agricultural well at Raikal in Saidapur mandal, Karimnagar district, while his parents were occupied nearby with farm work.

Karimnagar: An 18-month-old boy, Kaushik Nand, drowned after accidentally falling into an agricultural well at Raikal in Saidapur mandal on Sunday.

According to villagers, his parents, Chirala Kavya and Venkataiah, had taken him to the well near their house while they were engaged in arranging water for paddy fields, leaving the child unattended.

While playing nearby, the boy slipped and fell into the well. On noticing the incident, his mother Kavya raised an alarm, and locals rushed to the spot, but the boy had already drowned.

As the well contained a large volume of water, villagers arranged motors to drain it out.
