20-year-old woman goes missing from Hyderabad

Allegedly depressed over pressure from parents to get married, G Mamatha, a native of Saidabad is suspected to have left the house

Hyderabad: A 20-year-old woman, who was allegedly under pressure from her parents to get married, has been reported missing from Champapet in Saidabad here on Wednesday.

The woman identified as G Mamatha, who works at a supermarket at IS Sadan was living with her parents and elder brother here. Police said her parents were bringing suitable marriage alliances for her but she kept rejecting all, citing various reasons. However, her parents tried to convince her and kept pressing her to get married soon.

Allegedly depressed over it after one such discussion at home in the morning, she is suspected to have left the house. She left a message to her brother on his phone saying she was leaving and left the phone at home itself. Her family members, unable to find her, approached the Saidabad police.

A missing case has been booked and is being investigated.
