Hyderabad: 2024 ended with the massive success of Pushpa 2: The Rule, and 2025 is set to carry forward the excitement, especially with Sankranthi marking the season of big cinema. From small-budget hits to highly anticipated blockbusters, here’s a look at the year’s releases so far and what’s to come.
January: A Strong Start
The year began with Unni Mukundan starrer Marco, released on January 1. The intense action drama, which had already impressed Malayalam and Hindi audiences, captivated Telugu viewers as well, earning positive reviews and achieving housefull shows on its opening day.

On January 10, Ram Charan and Shankar’s much-awaited Game Changer will hit the screens, with highexpectations fueled by its popular songs and international promotions.

Sankranthi brings two major releases: Bala Krishna’s Daaku Maharaj on January 12 and Venkatesh’s Sankranthi ki Vastunnam on January 14. Fans are hoping these films recreate the magic of last year’s festive hits like Guntur Kaaram and Hanu-Man.
February: A Feel-Good Month

Comedy legend Brahmanandam returns to the silver screen with his son Raja Goutham in BrahmaAnandam, releasing on February 7. Fans of the “Meme God” are eagerly awaiting this comeback.
On the same day, Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi reunite in a romantic drama Thandel, directed by Chandoo Mondeti. After their hit Love Story and the director’s critically acclaimed Karthikeya 2, expectations are sky-high.

Valentine’s Day will see Vishwak Sen’s Laila hit the screens. After a not-so-lucky 2024, this film could mark a fresh start for Vishwak.
March: Pawan Kalyan Returns
March 28 marks the much-anticipated return of Pawan Kalyan to cinemas with Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1. The historical action drama comes after a long gap, as the actor focused on his political career in 2024.

April: A Star-Studded Month
April kicks off with a clash between Siddu Jonnalagadda’s Jack and Prabhas’s The Raja Saab on April 10. Later, Anushka Shetty returns with Ghaati on April 18, sharing the release date with Mirai, starring Teja Sajja and Manchu Manoj. The month ends with Vishnu Manchu’s pan-Indian film Kannappa on April 25.

May: Back-to-Back Hits Expected
Nani continues his successful streak with HIT: The Third Case on May 1. Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja returns to his comfort zone with Mass Jathara on May 9, hoping to regain his box-office standards.

Later in the Year
While the summer months remain tentatively quiet, September promises fireworks. Bala Krishna returns with Akhanda 2, the sequel to his 2021 blockbuster Akhanda, on September 25. Sharing the same release date is Sai Dharam Tej alias Sai Durgha Tej’s Sambarala Yeti Gattu, marking his comeback after a pause.

October, November, and December have no major announcements yet, but release dates may shift as the year progresses.
With an exciting lineup, fans hope 2025 will be a milestone year for the Telugu film industry.
