Among the inscriptions, some were in Nandinagirilipi while others were in Telugu
Hyderabad: A total of 21 Tamara Shashanalu (inscriptions engraved on copper plates) were discovered at Ghanta Muttam in the Srisailam on Sunday morning.
The temple management in association with Endowments department has taken up restoration works at Ghanta Muttam, one of the five Muttams in the temple at Srisailam.
Initially, 18 Tamara Shashanalu were unearthed and later three more were found by the workers. Among the inscriptions, some were in Nandinagirilipi while others were in Telugu. The temple management immediately informed the matter to local revenue, archeology and police officers.
As per the preliminary findings, officials informed that the Tamara Shashanalu could be from the 14th to 16th century era.
