Hyderabad: A 22-year-old homemaker was found hanging in her home at Mangalhat in the wee hours of Friday. Police suspect she hanged herself to death due to harassment by her husband and in-laws.

The woman, J Shweta, got married to Karan, a resident of Seetharambagh, a year and half ago. Around 3 am on Friday, she was found hanging to the ceiling fan in her room. Though relatives rushed her to a private hospital, doctors pronounced her dead. Her parents have alleged that Karan and his parents were harassing Shweta, asking her to arrange money for setting up a business.

Based on a complaint, a case under Section 498A and 306 of the Indian Penal Code has been booked and is being investigated.
