25 Hyderabad passengers were on Kurnool bus that caught fire while heading to Bengaluru
Around 25 passengers from Hyderabad had boarded the Vemuri Kaveri Travels bus that caught fire near Kurnool while on its way to Bengaluru. The vehicle, registered in Odisha, had several overspeeding challans. Telangana officials are assisting the investigation.

Hyderabad: Around 25 passengers had boarded from various locations across Hyderabad, the ill-fated Vemuri Kaveri Travels bus that caught fire near Kurnool when heading to Bengaluru.
According to the travel records, the bus — operating under service number VKAVERI-601 (Hyderabad–Bengaluru) — picked up passengers from multiple city points including Nizampet, Gachibowli, LB Nagar, JNTU, KPHB, Erragadda, SR Nagar, Paradise, Nampally, Lakdikapool, Suraram, Miyapur, Vanasthalipuram, and Chintal.
The passengers, booked through Redbus and private agents, were en route to Bengaluru when the tragic incident occurred.
Authorities have confirmed that the vehicle was registered in Odisha and had multiple pending e-challans in Telangana for over-speeding.
Officials from the Telangana Transport Department have assured full cooperation in the ongoing investigation and support for relief efforts.
