Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Sleuths of Task Force seized 25 quintals of rice meant for a public distribution scheme (PDS) being smuggled to Maharashtra, at Gudem village in Chintalamanepalli mandal on Tuesday.
Task Force Inspector Rana Prathap said that the arrested person was identified as Dage Venkanna, a resident of Dimda village in Chintalamanepalli mandal.
Venkanna was found transporting the grains belonging to PDS to Maharashtra by a jeep at an inter-State check post, following a tip-off. He was handed over to Chintalamanepalli police for further action against him.
Task Force Sub-Inspector Prasad, Bejjur Sub-Inspector Sagar, constables Tirupati, Ramesh, Vijay, Sanjay and Sampath took part in the operation.
