Bhupalpally: A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death by unidentified persons in Chandrupalli village of Mahadevapur mandal of the district on Wednesday evening. The deceased was identified as Mutyala Srikanth of Kommera village.
According to reports, Srikanth was operating a crushing machine in Chandrupalli village since the last three days. He used to come in a car along with driver Pradeep and work till evening and leave in the car back to his village. On Wednesday evening, after completing his work, Srikanth was waiting in the car to go back to his village.
Two persons came on a bike and stopped in front of the car and pulled Srikanth out and stabbed him indiscriminately. Pradeep came to his rescue, but he collapsed by that time. In the meantime, Pradeep took the keys of the bike and ran into the fields screaming for help. The duo fled the spot after hearing people rushing towards the spot.
The locals informed the police, who shifted the body to the government hospital for postmortem. A case was registered and investigation is underway.
