Karimnagar: Additional Collector GV Shyamprasad Lal stated that a total of 3.27 lakh metric tons of paddy was purchased.
Shyamprasad Lal, in a statement, stated that a total of 351 paddy purchasing centers were set up in the district to procure the crop from the farmers.
So far, Rs 640.97 crore worth of paddy (3.27 lakh metric tons) was procured from 53,606 farmers. As of Saturday, Rs 486.3 crore amount was paid to 43,339 farmers.
Informing that 2.50 lakh metric paddy was purchased in the last Kharif season, he said district administration made elaborate arrangements to procure the crop since paddy cultivation was increased in this season.
Out of the 351 PPCs, the procurement process in 178 centers was already completed and the centers were also closed. While 93.68 lakh gunny bags have been supplied to PPCs, 80,291 more gunny bags were available in the district.
Stating that the procurement process in the district had been expedited, he said the farmers need not worry about their crop since the district administration was ready to purchase the entire crop.
