Visakhapatnam: Special Branch police have arrested three persons including a woman, for drug peddling. Informing this at a media conference here on Monday, Special Branch Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Anand Reddy and ACP-West Sripada Rao said Ganta Malavya, 24, a resident of Shaikpet near Golconda in Hyderabad arrived in the city by a private traveller bus on Sunday. She reached NAD Junction from where one ALV Hemant Kumar of Bhaskar Gardens in Marripalem picked her up in an Audi car.
On a tip off, police intercepted the car and seized from their possession 18 MDMA tablets and two sachets of MD crystal powder. The drugs were allegedly sent through Malavya by one Gita of Hyderabad who was paid the cost of drugs in PayTM mode by Hemant Kumar’s friend, U. Prithviraj of Venkojipalem in the city. Malavya, Hemanat Kumar and Prithviraj were arrested and Gita remained to be taken into custody, police said.
