38 players share lead in TS Open Rapid Chess tournament

Around 180 players from twin cities are participating in the event, which is the first open prize money tournament in Hyderabad after Covid-19 pandemic

38 players share lead in TS Open Rapid Chess tournament

Hyderabad: As many as 38 players share joint lead with two points each after two rounds on the opening day of the Telangana Open Rapid Chess tournament, being organised by Ekalavya Chess Academy, at the YWCA Secunderabad on Sunday.

Around 180 players from twin cities are participating in the event, which is the first open prize money tournament in Hyderabad after Covid-19 pandemic forced lockdown. The tournament has a prize money of Rs 25,000 and the top finisher will get Rs 5,000 and a trophy.

Important 2nd Round Results: Varun V (2) bt Jeev Sphoorthi G (1); Viswajith B (1) lost to J Rama Krishna (2); Amitpal Singh (2) bt Amrutha Bhagavatula (1); Srinivas P (1) lost to Satyanarayana P (2); G V Srinivasa Rao (2) beat Kithika B (1).
