39 sheep killed in lightning strike at Wanaparthy village

Wanaparthy: Lightning struck 39 sheep, killing them on the spot at Palem village, Kothakota mandal in the district on Tuesday night.
District Sheep Development Cooperation Federation Chairman Pendem Kurumurthy Yadav and Zilla Parishad vice Chairman Vaman Goud and veterinary officials visited the village and consoled the shepherds. Instructions were issued to the veterinary officials to examine the 39 sheep and prepare a comprehensive report.
This apart, Pendem Kurumurthy Yadav also spoke to Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav and briefed him about the incident. He instructed the officials to prepare a report that would be submitted to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. The Minister also assured all help to the shepherds.
Meanwhile, Zilla Parishad vice Chairman Vaman Goud and Deverkadra MLA A. Venkateshwar Reddy spoke to District Collector over phone and appealed for immediate assistance to the shepherds.
