40-year-old Andhra woman found dead in Hyderabad women’s hostel

A 40-year-old woman from Andhra Pradesh was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the bathroom of a women’s hostel penthouse in Madhuranagar, Hyderabad. Police launched an investigation after residents complained of a foul smell and are awaiting the post-mortem report.

Hyderabad: A 40-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances in the bathroom of a penthouse at a women’s hostel in Madhuranagar on Thursday morning.

Harika, a native of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh, stayed in the penthouse of a ladies’ hostel located at Madhuranagar. In the early hours, the other occupants of the ladies’ hostel complained of foul smell emanating from the building and the security checked the penthouse.


The woman was found dead in the bathroom in the penthouse. The police, on information, reached the spot and, after preliminary examination, shifted the body for post-mortem examination to Gandhi Hospital mortuary. A case is registered by the Madhuranagar police.

The police are waiting for the post-mortem examination report to ascertain the cause of death. The police suspect the woman died two days ago.
