Sangareddy: Chiragpally police in Sangareddy district seized 420 kilograms of ganja from a lorry while it was being transported to Maharastra from Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to news reporters at Chiaragpally police station on Tuesday evening, SP M Ramana Kumar said that the Chiragpally police way-laid the vehicle on NH-65 at Madgi village outskirts following a tip-off and chased down the lorry when the driver attempted to escape. When searched the truck, the police have found a secret cabin filled with 420 kgs of ganja which was brought from Rajamundry in Andhra Pradesh.
The police nabbed Ashok Keshkar (34) and Sanjay Narwaria (32), who were natives of Madhya Pradesh State. During the inquiry, the two lorry drivers admitted that they were working for one Parsuram Parakeela, a native of Ahmednagar in Maharastra. Prakash was booked as the A-1 in the case. The hunt is on to nab Prakash.
Ramana Kumar, who appreciated the Chiargapally police for seizing such a huge quantity of ganja, recommended the personnel’s names for rewards. DSP Zaheerabad Shankar Raju, Inspector Rajashekar, Tehsildar Prem Kumar, SIs Kasinath and Srikanth were present.
