Peddapalli: The 44th raising day of National Thermal Power Corporation-Ramagundam was celebrated on a grand scale in NTPC on Sunday.
Commissioned on November 14, 1978, NTPC-Ramagundam completed 43 years and entered into 44th year, which was celebrated with great enthusiasm by officials and employees of the power giant.
Raising day celebration started with tree plantation followed by morning walk from Ambedkar park, PTS to Administrative building. Sunil Kumar, Chief General Manager of NTPC (Ramagundam and Telangana) and hundreds of employees participated in the walk.
Later, at a project level raising day function, Sunil Kumar unfurled the NTPC flag followed by NTPC Geet sung by all employees. In the ceremony later, cake cutting was organised along with the release of balloons as a tribute to Ramagundam completing 43 years.
Speaking on this occasion, Sunil Kumar highlighted the achievements of the plant so far in the financial year 2020-21 and thanked the various departments for their hard work and achievement. He applauded the station’s progress over the last 43 years. Besides highlighting its core area of power generation, he also threw light on the progress of NTPC-Telangana Super Thermal Power Project.
On this occasion, Sunil Kumar shared the station’s recent success in receiving the HMTV award for environment protection initiatives, CII National Energy Leader Award in energy management, Golden Peacock Award in plant performance and Swarn Shakti Award for best project management (Telangana project).
All senior general managers and other senior officials, office bearers of different unions and associations, CISF officials and employees were present at the programme.
