48-hour water supply disruption in Hyderabad from September 9: HMWSSB
The HMWSSB has announced a 48-hour water supply disruption in several parts of the city from 6 am on September 9 to 11 am on September 10. This is due to the replacement of valves on the Godavari Drinking Water Supply Phase-1 project. Multiple neighbourhoods across Hyderabad will be affected.
Hyderabad: A 48-hour water supply disruption has been announced in several areas of Hyderabad by the officials of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) on Friday.
“Replacement works on the Godavari Drinking Water Supply Phase-1 project, which supplies drinking water to Hyderabad city, will disrupt water supply in several areas for 48 hours. HMWSSB has proposed the replacement of 900 mm diameter valves installed on the 3000 mm diameter MS pumping main at the Murmur, Mallaram, and Kondapaka pumping stations is scheduled from 6 am on September 9 and up to 11 am on September 10,” according to an official release issued by the HMWSSB.
As a result, water supply will be halted in the following areas within the reservoir limits during this period: S.R. Nagar, Sanathnagar, Borabanda, SPR Hills, Erragadda, Banjara Hills, Venkatrao Nagar, Yellareddyguda, Somajiguda, Fatehnagar sections, parts of Jubilee Hills, and parts of Tatikana, Lalapet and Tarnaka neighbourhoods.
