Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Special Operations Team (SOT) caught seven persons who were selling ganja and seized around 500 grams of the contraband, ganja stuffed cigarettes and other articles from them.
Those arrested are identified as G Srikanth (21), C Rohith (22),Thuddu Pavankalyan (21), S Shashivardhan (21), Sonti Rajiv (22), A Vikram Kumar (22), all students, and B Sravan Kumar (21) a call centre employee. One more person Sairam is absconding.
According to the police, Sairam was supplying the contraband to them and the other seven persons were packing in sachets or filling in cigarettes and selling to their friends and acquaintances at a higher price.
“The gang moved around in cars and bikes and sold it to the youngsters, mostly college students, in Jawaharnagar police station limits,” said the SOT officials. On a tip off, the SOT Malkajigiri team raided a house at VRR Green Park Enclave in Dammaiguda and nabbed them.
