Nalgonda: A 54-year-old woman was allegedly raped and murdered by two persons at Mushampally village of Nalgonda district on Wednesday.
According to police, the victim was returning home after buying groceries from a shop in the village when Bakkathatla Lingaiah and his friend Erpucherla Pullaiah accosted her. The street was deserted since it was raining heavily at that time. She could also not shout loudly for help as she was suffering from a throat infection. The two forced their way into her house and committed the crime.
Neighbours, who heard sounds coming from the house, entered her premises and found the victims in an unconscious state. On seeing the neighbours, the two accused fled from the spot.
Rural Sub-Inspector Rajasekhar Reddy said circumstantial evidences indicated that the woman was raped and murdered by the two. The accused also cleaned up the house to destroy any evidence.
