7-year-old boy drowns in water sump in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A seven-year-old boy drowned in a water sump near their house at Ghatkesar on Thursday morning. According to the police, G Ganesh, son of Satish, was playing in front of the house when he accidentally fell in the water sump around 11 am. Family members, on not seeing him for a long time, searched in the neighbourhood.

“It was more than an hour later that they checked the water sump and found him in the water. They rushed him to a local government hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead,” the Ghatkesar police said, adding that a case was registered and investigation was on.
