Hyderabad: As many as 72 degree colleges in the State will not find a place in the Degree Online Services, Telangana (DOST) 2021 for admissions into various degree courses this year. This was due to these colleges scoring a nought in enrollments in the last two consecutive years.
A decision to this effect has been taken recently during a meeting convened by officials of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) and Commissionerate of Collegiate Education with V-Cs of six conventional universities.
“There are some colleges which get affiliation from the university concerned but they do not receive enough enrollments and even the ones who join, move to other colleges in the subsequent counsellings leaving them with zero admissions. So, colleges with zero admissions for two consecutive years will not be allowed to upload their college details on the DOST website. This decision has made to avoid confusion among students,” officials said.
Meanwhile, the web options for the allotment of college and seats has commenced on Saturday. A total of 13,479 candidates paid the fee after registration on the DOST and 2,126 candidates exercised their web options till the last count on Saturday.
According to the schedule announced by the TSCHE, students can register for first phase degree admissions with fee of Rs 200 till July 15 and web options are available till July 16. The seats allotments in the first phase of admissions will be done on July 22 and candidates who receive such allotment order must self-report online between July 23 and 27.
