Hyderabad:Two persons who were allegedly preparing and selling adulterated ghee were caught by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force (South) on Wednesday. The police seized 970 litres of the adulterated product from them.
Those arrested persons were Deepak Penurkar (55) of Nanded district in Maharashtra and Rahul Agarwal (31) of Himayatnagar. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Task Force) Gummi Chakravarthy said the two were preparing ghee using Palmolein oil and vegetable oils in Nanded district. Afterward, they sourced empty sachets with ‘Vijaya Telangana Brand’ printed on it and packed the adulterated ghee.
“Through transport companies, the product was brought to the city and supplied in the market. The packaging resembles sachets of Telangana Dairy Development Corporation products,” the DCP said.
The Task Force conducted a joint operation along with the Shahinayathgunj police and arrested Deepak and Rahul.
