There is a huge demand for forensic experts and with the need for trained professionals in the field going up so has been the demand for a course in forensics.
A few universities and colleges in the country have recently started to offer this course.
One among such universities is the National Forensic Sciences University, an institution of national importance, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, which recently issued a notification inviting applications for admissions into the five-year integrated BSc-MSc Forensic Science programme at its Goa and Tripura campuses. The course has 40 seats each in Goa and Tripura campuses.
The applicants should have passed intermediate or Class 12 in the science stream with a minimum of 60 per cent marks for General, OBC (NCL) and EWS categories, while 50 per cent or equivalent marks is required for SC/ST and PwD category candidates.
Apart from five-year integrated BSc-MSc Forensic Science programme, the university is also offering MSc Forensic Science, MSc Digital Forensics and Information Security, MSc Cyber Security, MSc Forensic Dentistry, PG Diploma in Forensic Nursing, PG Diploma in Humanitarian Forensics, LLM (one year), PG Diploma in Cyber Law (one year) and MA Police and Security Studies (two-years) programmes.
The last date for applying online is October 25 and a hard copy of the application has to reach the university on or before October 30.
