Hyderabad: Opener Abhirath Reddy slammed an unbeaten 114 (116; 18×4) as Hyderabad thrashed Odisha by nine wickets in the men’s under-25 State A trophy at the Madhav Rao Scindia Cricket Ground in Rajkot, on Sunday.
Electing to field, Hyderabad restricted Odisha to 211/9 in 50 overs. Pacer Karthikeya Kak returned with 3/50 bowling figures while left arm spinner G Aniketh Reddy scalped two for 39. For Odisha, Rajesh Mohanty top-scored with a 35-run knock.
Chasing the modest total, Abhirath and M Rakesh Yadav added 57 runs in 11.1 overs before the latter departed for 20. Abhirath then joined with K Nithesh Reddy (73 not out off 80; 5×5, 4×6) and guided Hyderabad home with 12 overs to spare. Both added an unbeaten 155 for the second wicket to shut the door on Odisha.
