Suryapet: District Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy on Monday urged the people to take part in the efforts to control spread of Covid-19 in the district by strictly following lockdown restrictions.

Releasing a publicity poster brought out by the Women’s Development and Child Welfare department on Covid vaccination for the aged people at Covid Control Room set up at the district collectorate, Vinay Krishna Reddy said the State government has extended the lockdown by 10 more days and also instructed the police to implement it strictly to control the virus. No one should violate the restrictions imposed as a part of lockdown and cooperate with the government authorities in controlling the pandemic, he added.

He said that aged and differently-abled persons will get assistance in getting Covid vaccine if they call toll-free number – 18005728980.

Pandemic ebbing

Stating that the corona positivity rate was coming down in the district, he said that the people have no need to panic. Medicines and oxygen facility were made available in all government hospitals for the treatment of corona patients. Special focus was laid on Kodad and Huzurnagar Assembly constituencies, which were bordering areas of Andhra Pradesh State, in controlling spread of the virus.
