Hyderabad: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Telangana on Wednesday demanded extension of deadline for verification of certificates for BEd final year students who made it to the general ranking list of the District Selection Committee (DSC), a teacher recruitment exam.
In a statement here, ABVP state secretary Chinthakayala Jhansi said the government provided an opportunity to the BEd final year students to appear for the DSC examination and several such candidates cracked the exam.
However, since the universities like the Osmania University and Satavahana University did not complete the BEd final-year exams in time and announce the results, there was no possibility of students receiving their certificates in time, she said.
Demanding action against the universities for delay in holding the exams and announcement of the results, Jhansi wanted extension of certificate verification deadline by a month for BEd final year students and take up the teacher recruitment process.
“If not, several BEd final year students who cracked the DSC examination will lose the job opportunity,” she said and warned of protests if the government fails to address the issue.
