Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at the Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TG BIE) here on Wednesday as a large number of activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a protest demanding the Board issue hall tickets to about 300 students.
A scuffle broke out between the police and protesters when the latter attempted to barge into the Board’s office. The protesters were detained and shifted to a local police station.
Speaking to the media, ABVP state secretary M Rambabu alleged that the Board had colluded with corporate colleges and was playing with the lives of students by not releasing their hall tickets.
“These students did not receive their hall tickets even during the practical examinations. We want the Board to immediately resolve the reported technical issues and release the pending hall tickets without further delay. We will continue to fight until hall tickets are issued to all students,” he said.
