Hyderabad: The ACB arrested Ambedkar Erugu, Assistant Divisional Engineer (Operations) TGSPDCL, Ibrahimbagh, in a case of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
During searches at 10 places belonging to the official and his relatives, several properties were unearthed, including a flat in Serilingampally, a ground-plus-five-storey building in Gachibowli, a company named Amthar Chemicals on 10 acres of land, six residential plots in Hyderabad, farmland, two cars, gold ornaments, and bank deposits, said ACB officials in a press release.
During the searches, cash of Rs 2.18 crore was also found in the house of a suspected ‘benami’ of the official. “The searches revealed that the officer acquired these movable and immovable properties by abusing his official position. The searches are still going on,” said the officials.
The market value of the properties is much higher than their official value. The official was produced before the court and sent to judicial remand.
