Hyderabad: In a major crackdown on corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday raided the residence and properties of Ambedkar, working as an Additional Divisional Engineer (ADE) in the Electricity Department, and uncovered massive unaccounted wealth.

During the searches, officials seized cash worth Rs 2 crore stacked in bundles at the officer’s residence and the residence of one Sathish, reportedly a benami of the officer. Simultaneous raids were carried out at 18 different locations linked to him across Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medak and Nizamabad districts.

Investigations revealed that the official had amassed huge assets, including prime lands, residential plots and farmhouses in Gachibowli and other areas. ACB authorities estimate the market value of his assets could be as high as Rs 200 crore.

The raids created a stir, exposing yet another case of corruption in the electricity department.

Further investigation is underway.
