ACB arrests legal metrology inspector for demanding bribe in Khammam
The Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested a legal metrology inspector in Khammam for allegedly demanding a bribe to certify a repaired weighbridge. Officials said the accused was caught based on recorded evidence and will be produced before a special court in Warangal

Khammam: Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested legal metrology inspector B Praveen Kumar for allegedly demanding a bribe.
According to Khammam range ACB DSP Y Ramesh, licensed repairers install and repair weighing and measuring equipment at petrol pumps, supermarkets and weighbridges used for weighing heavy trucks, and their work needs to be certified by the legal metrology department.
The accused allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 to certify a weighbridge repaired by a licensed technician but later reduced the amount to Rs 5,000. Their telephonic conversation was recorded and, based on the recorded evidence, Praveen Kumar was arrested on Monday night at his office in Khammam.
DSP Ramesh said the accused would be produced before the special judge for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal.
