ACB arrests motor vehicle inspector in bribe case at Wyra in Khammam

ACB arrested a motor vehicle inspector in a bribe case at Wyra in Khammam.
Khammam: ACB sleuths have caught motor vehicle inspector A Vara Prasad red-handed while he demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 24,000 from a contractor at the RTO office in Wyra, Khammam district, on Tuesday.
The ACB Khammam range DSP Y Ramesh said that the accused officer demanded a payment of Rs 24,800 for not imposing fines and penalties on the transport vehicles operated by the complainant in the Wyra area.
The MVI accepted the bribe through his private assistant Raja Shekhar, who absconded with the money after receiving it. During the post-trap proceedings, a total amount of Rs 50,200 was seized from the MVI’s car.
The accused will be arrested and produced before the special judge for special police establishment (SPE) and ACB cases in Warangal, the DSP added.
