ACB conducts raids on Excise Superintendent over disproportionate assets

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday conducted simultaneous searches at Hyderabad and Nizamabad following allegations that Nizamabad District Prohibition and Excise Superintendent K Malla Reddy had amassed assets disproportionately through illegal means.

Acting on a complaint, special ACB teams led by DSP Shekhar Goud carried out searches at Malla Reddy’s residence in Hyderabad, his house at Pragathi Nagar in Nizamabad, and the Excise Superintendent’s office located in Subhash Nagar.

During the raids, officials reportedly seized several documents from the Excise Office and collected records, property-related papers and other valuables from the officer’s residences for examination.

ACB officials later took Malla Reddy into custody for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation. Searches and verification of documents were continuing at multiple locations.

The ACB is expected to reveal details of the assets detected and the findings of the investigation after completing scrutiny of the seized records.
