Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday conducted searches at 10 locations, including the residence and office of Yadagiri Rao Nallaguntla, Additional Director of the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA), in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

The case was registered against Yadagiri Rao for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income through corrupt practices and dubious means during his service.
Searches were conducted at his official’s residence, office, bank lockers and premises belonging to his relatives, associates and suspected benamidars.

During the searches, officials identified assets worth approximately Rs.4.75 crore. These include 12 open plots in different locations in Hyderabad and Suryapet district, valued at Rs.58.63 lakh, and two residential flats at Uppal worth Rs.31.36 lakh.

The officials also found a G 3 residential building with a penthouse at Uppal, valued at approximately Rs.2 crore, a house in Suryapet worth Rs.4.75 lakh and a commercial shop at Uppal valued at Rs.1.06 lakh. The market value of these properties is expected to be considerably higher than their assessed values.

The searches also led to the identification of gold ornaments weighing around 1,792.2 grams, valued at Rs.33.82 lakh, and three kg of silver ornaments worth Rs.1.80 lakh. Two four-wheelers, including a Toyota Fortuner, were valued at Rs.73 lakh, while three two-wheelers were worth Rs.2.80 lakh.

Household articles worth Rs.29.08 lakh, electronic gadgets valued at Rs.7.01 lakh and bank balances of Rs.32.30 lakh in various accounts were also identified.

The total assets detected so far have been estimated at Rs.4,75,61,171. Officials said verification of additional assets was continuing. The market value is much higher.
