Khammam: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials have searched the residences of civil supplies department Mahabubabad district manager Vasamsetti Narasimha Rao in connection with corruption charges.
Speaking to the media, Khammam range DSP, Y Ramesh informed that searches were carried out simultaneously at six to seven locations across the state, including three in Khammam district; his residence at Kaviraju Nagar, in-laws’ house and at his relatives’ residence at Nelakondapalli, besides locations in Suryapet, Mahabubabad and Hyderabad’s LB Nagar.
The accused officer previously worked in Khammam and had faced corruption charges, following which he was suspended. He later served in Nirmal and is currently holding full additional charge as Mahabubabad district manager of civil supplies. Wherever he worked, allegations of corruption were reported and he allegedly amassed wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. Consequently, the ACB began monitoring his activities, the DSP said.
During the searches, officials found real estate assets, vehicles, gold and other valuables allegedly disproportionate to the income earned by the officer during his 15 years of service. After a detailed assessment of the seized assets and related records, he will be produced before a court, DSP Ramesh noted.
