ACB nabs GHMC official, private person for bribery in Hyderabad

C Madhu had demanded a bribe from a person to “not hike property tax of a factory”

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths arrested a GHMC bill collector and a private person after they were caught for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe from an owner of a factory.

According to the ACB officials, the bill collector C Madhu working in Rajendranagar circle, had demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a person to “not hike property tax of a factory.” Madhu later settled for Rs 45,000 and asked a private person V Ramesh to collect the amount.

On Monday, the ACB laid a trap and caught Ramesh red handed when he came and accepted Rs 45,000 from the factory owner.

Madhu and Ramesh were arrested and produced before the ACB court Hyderabad. Investigation is going on.
