Sangareddy: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials nabbed a Bill Collector while he was allegedly accepting a Rs 15,000 bribe from a household in Sadasivapet municipality on Thursday. According to ACB DSP Sudharshan, the accused Bill Collector, Nikhil Reddy, had demanded a Rs 35,000 bribe from a house owner for accepting his request to reduce the complainant’s house tax from Rs 1.04 lakh to Rs 50,000 as a one-time settlement.
The complainant paid Rs 20,000 in the first instalment. However, unable to pay the remaining amount, he approached ACB officials. The ACB officials, who laid a trap, asked the complainant to pay the bribe at the Bill Collector’s chamber on Thursday, when they entered and caught him red-handed.
