ACB traps agricultural officer, second raid in Kothagudem in one week

Kothagudem: The ACB nabbed Aswapuram mandal agricultural officer Sai Shantan Kumar red-handed while he was allegedly receiving a bribe from a farmer.
The accused was said to have demanded Rs.30,000 to issue a coupon to a farmer to sell his cotton produce. The farmer unable to pay the money approached the ACB. An ACB team led by Khammam range DSP, Y Ramesh laid a trap and caught Shantan Kumar red-handed.
The tainted money was seized and the accused would be arrested and produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Warangal, the DSP informed. This is the second ACB raid within a week in the district.It might be recalled that ACB sleuths trapped two forest officers and caught them red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.30,000 from a contractor at Komararam in Yellandu mandal in the district on Tuesday.
