Hyderabad: Actor and former Miss India-2018 Meenakshi Chaudhary planted saplings at the GHMC Park in Jubilee Hills, as part of the Green India Challenge initiated by Rajya Sabha MP J Santosh Kumar, to increase the green cover in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, Meenakshi shared that she felt happy to be a part of the movement. In turn, she also challenged actors Akshara Hasan, Siddharth Shankar and Vijay Antony to plant saplings. Raghava, co-founder of Green India Challenge, presented a copy of ‘Vriksha Vedam’ to Meenakshi at the event.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed Commissioner of Cyberabad Police M Stephen Raveendra on Thursday accepted the Green India Challenge given by Santosh Kumar and planted a sapling at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate premises at Gachibowli. He also called for protection of the environment.
The MP, responding to the Cyberabad Police tweet on the Commissioner’s gesture, said it was the perfect way to start the new assignment and also congratulated Raveendra for his posting.
