Hyderabad: Amid the controversy involving veteran actor Manchu Mohan Babu allegedly assaulting a TV channel journalist, the former had released an audio clip after being discharged from the hospital on Thursday.
In the lengthy clip, the actor said that he did not intend to hit the journalist and that he did not know it was a journalist who was entering his house. He said he thought his rivals were coming forward to attack him under the guise of media persons.
He said he regretted the incident.
“Can others interfere in family problems without any permission. Media persons have stayed put in front of my house for the past four days along with live vans. I told them earlier not to interfere and that I will solve my family problem,” Mohan Babu said adding that the media had played the incident in a negative way.
He further questioned if it was acceptable on part of media to barge into a private property without permission during night.
“I had doubt if all of those who barged inside were media persons. People holding a grudge against me too could have entered with microphones in their hands. They came without listening to what I said. I greeted them and they brought the mic and almost put it in my mouth. It hit me under the eye. I almost lost my eye,” the senior actor said.
Mohan Babu said that if he had hit someone outside the gate, it would have been his fault and it was fine if he was booked or arrested for it. But in this instance, the persons trespassed into his house and disturbed his privacy and breached his security.
