Khammam: PDSU activists took out a protest rally here on Monday demanding the State government to address problems being faced by students studying in government schools. The union district president and general secretary Azad and V Venkatesh led the rally to the district Collectorate and submitted a memorandum to the DRO, R Shireesha. The orders wherein MLAs and MLCs have to spend 40 per cent of constituency development funds on school education were not being implemented in the district, they alleged.
“It is unfortunate that MLAs and MLCs did not visit the schools in their constituencies from the beginning of the academic year till date. Even as a large number of students joined government schools this year as never before the government failed to appoint teachers,” Venkatesh said. In addition to that temporary vidya volunteers were removed. The government must pay the price for the neglect of the schools where SC, ST and BC students were studying in large numbers, the leaders warned.
