Adilabad: Mild tension prevailed for a while when police prevented BJP workers led by Adilabad MP G Nagesh and MLA Payal Shankar on their way to visit the tribal woman who survived a rape and murder attempt in Utnoor mandal centre on Sunday.

The leaders picked up an argument with police for preventing them from meeting the victim at a police check post established in Utnoor-Jainoor road. Police resorted to lathi-charging to stop the leaders, resulting in a tension.
