Adilabad: Show-cause notices were served on Congress leaders Kandi Srinivas Reddy and Sanjeeva Reddy, who abused each other at a Political Affairs Committee meeting in Utnoor recently.
Sources said that the Congress party sought an explanation from the two leaders for violating party norms within three days. The party is learnt to have taken the clash seriously and slapped notices on the two leaders from the Adilabad Assembly segment.
Srinivas Reddy objected to the participation of Sanjeeva Reddy in the meeting. He reportedly abused Sanjeeva Reddy for attending the event without being invited. Sanjeeva Reddy claimed that he had been associated with the Congress for quite a long time.
While Srinivas Reddy had contested the 2023 Assembly elections on a party ticket, Sanjeeva Reddy, an aspirant, raised a banner of revolt against him. Since then, both of them have been at loggerheads. Sanjeeva Reddy had allegedly operated a faction and worked against Srinivas Reddy’s candidature. Srinivas Reddy stood in third position with 47,724 votes.
