Internal differences among Congress leaders surfaced during a PAC meeting in Adilabad, with Kandi Srinivas Reddy objecting to Sanjeeva Reddy’s participation. Supporters of both leaders raised slogans, leading to a commotion before Sanjeeva Reddy left the meeting.
Supporters of Kandi Srinivas Reddy, who was the Congress candidate in Adilabad for the Assembly polls, on Wednesday launched a protest against induction of leaders like DCC president Sajid Khan, aspirant Gandrath Sujatha, former DCC chief Bhargav Deshpandey, and former agriculture market committee chairman Sanjeeva Reddy.
Kandi Srinivas Reddy of the Congress and Jangu Bapu, a nominee fielded by the BSP, raised objections with the returning officer for approving the nomination.
Adilabad DSP Umender, in a statement, said a case was registered against Srinivas Reddy for using filthy language against Congress aspirant, Gandrath Sujatha.
