Adilabad police arrests two real estate agents for encroaching ED-attached land; eight others booked
Adilabad police arrested two real estate agents and booked eight others for encroaching on 2.10 acres of ED-attached land mortgaged to SBI. The accused allegedly used fake documents, while the landowner admitted selling the property with their assistance.
Adilabad: Police arrested two real estate agents and booked eight others for allegedly encroaching on land attached by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and mortgaged to the State Bank of India, besides threatening the public on Sunday evening.
Adilabad DSP L Jeevan Reddy said Ramesh Sharma of Housing Board Colony and Ibrahim Mohammed alias Mamla from Bhuktapur were apprehended for encroaching on 2.10 acres of land belonging to Manoj Kumar Agarwal. The land had been attached by the ED in connection with a financial crime. The duo allegedly acted with the help of a gang of real estate agents.
A case was registered against Ramesh Sharma, Ibrahim Mohammed, Yathendranath, Hithendranath, Rakesh Sharma, Manoj Kumar Agarwal, Punam Vyas, Anuman Vyas, Shivaji and another person for occupying the land using fake title documents. Manoj Kumar reportedly admitted to selling the property to Punam Vyas with the assistance of Ibrahim and others.
